People with Down's syndrome (except for mosaic Down's syndrome)
are considered to be disabled from birth. The level of
impairment caused by mosaic Down's syndrome and other chromosomal
abnormalities varies widely. Disability is generally determined
based on the extent to which these abnormalities affect other
body systems or an individual's ability to meet the mental and
communicative aspects of competitive work. |
